Tradition and progress

From horse and cart to tank truck fleet.

1930
Company formation by August Anhalt

In 1930, the 28 year old August Anhalt, son of an inn-keeper and a coal merchant went into business for himself as a forwarder with horse and cart in his home-village Karolinenkoog.

1933
First motorized Mercedes Lo2750

In 1933, the third year of his self-employment he could change from the coach-box of his cart to his first engine-driven Mercedes Lo 2750. He used it mainly for the transport of mixed cargo, fresh meat and different other goods throughout Germany and Poland.

1934
Second motorized Mercedes Lo3000

Only one year later in 1934, another Mercedes could be bought. This time it was a Lo3000

1935

The third HGV could already been acquired in 1935. A Mercedes again but this time a Lo3750-type, with three and a half tons loading capacity.

1939
Confiscation of all equipment and drivers

In 1939 all vehicles were confiscated and, all drivers included, pledged to the building of defence systems.

1945
Resumption of business

After the drivers had returned without their vehicles in 1945 the demand of transporting goods was enormous, but there were no vehicles to meet these requirements. August Anhalt succeeded at last in obtaining a truck tractor, a Mercedes Typ L5000 with a canvas trailor and he could also find a 28 Deutz road tractor with two trailors.

1952
August Anhalt retired from business

In 1952 the long distance road traffic was ceased.

1958
Entrance of Horst Anhalt in the company of his uncle J. A. Bödewadt

In the year 1958 the certified motor mechanic Horst Anhalt took a working place as a driver in the company of his uncle Jakob A. Boedewadt in Lunden which was founded in 1933. A Mercedes L 322 was his constant companion on his long distance tours. Three years later a new L 322 with short bonnet was added. He used this truck until 1969.

1969
New foundation of the transport company Horst Anhalt

In 1969 the business was transferred to Horst und Gudrun Anhalt. A that time two HGVs belonged to it: a Henschel HS 11 and a Mercedes L 322.
This was also the foundation year of the Horst Anhalt forwarding company. His uncle retired and Horst Anhalt carried the business on under his name as planned before. He overtook vehicles and premises.

1970
Purchase of the first silo vehicles and begin of specialization

The first silo truck a Hentschel HS 22 came in 1970 as an increase of the fleet.

1977
Relocation to the new area at Rehm-Flehde-Bargen

Until 1977 there were already eight silo- and tip trucks in use for the Horst Anhalt forwarding company.
This made a move on a larger area inevitable and in Rehm-Flehde-Bargen a site was found large enough for premises, garage and office rooms.

1983
First transports with tank trailers

In 1983 the first vehicles for tanktransports were bought and Anhalt tanktrucks could be seen also internationally on every road only one year later. Foodstuff-, chemical- and transports of hazardous goods were made throughout Europe and the former Easternbloc States.
The Horst Anhalt forwarding company expanded eternally and in 1997 the fleet had grown to an amount of 105 trucks and trailors.

1998
Formation of a transport company in Poland

This growth mainly influenced the decision to set up a branch in Poland in 1998.

2000
Relocation to the new office building

After a short construction period the new office building at the headquarters in Bargen was ready for occupation. Since the year 2000 this building has been the place of management and the largest part of the dispatching- and administrationteam guides the trucks from this place.

2001
Location opened in Duisburg

In 2001 the first branch of Anhalt Logistics was opened in Duisburg. Thus there was an office as well as a tank-cleaning installation and a garage in the “Rheinland” area.

2002
Certified on DIN ISO 9001:2000, HACCP and GMP-07

One year later in 2002 the decision came to give up the silo transports and to concentrate on the main business namely the transportation of liquids.
For the settlement of the eternally growing claims of the customers Anhalt Logistics received certificates according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, HACCP und GMP-07. This was the headstone for qualitatively even better services.

2003
Official inauguration of the Cleaning Station

In 2003 the tankcleaning facilities installed in Rehm-Flehde-Bargen were iniciated. They consist of both an inner and an outer tankcleaning device.

2005
Location opend in Hamburg

The second branch of Anhalt Logistics was opened in 2005 in Hamburg. The direct vicinity of the motorway was a crucial criterion for the choice of the area there.
Anhalt Logistics extended its service offer by the employment of modern tankcontainers with stocks in Bargen and Duisburg to make an intermodal traffic possible.

2005
Certification by SQAS Road and Cleaning at Bargen

Also in this year Anhalt Logistics gained the certification according to SQAS Road and SQAS Cleaning for the headquarters in Bargen.
